Development of User Requirements

Before contracts can be placed with suppliers, and solutions designed, well defined User Requirements must be documented by the client to ensure clear understanding of what is expected by all parties (both by suppliers and operational organisations) to ensure a successful delivery of a Baggage Project.

Experience proves that ill-defined user requirements often lead to costly re-working and late project delivery.

The development of the User Requirements should not only be based on end users business needs, but should be produced with the knowledge of what a cost effective baggage solution should look like.

The User Requirements form the basis of the User Acceptance Testing in the V-model project delivery life-cycle, and as such have to be formulated in such a way as to be make the requirements testable in either the factory or site environment.

PSL's knowledge of both the technical and operational requirements of baggage system projects will ensure that all the necessary key performance requirements are considered during the concept design phase.

PSL are currently developing the User Requirements Documents for the BAA Heathrow Terminal 3 and T5-T3 Transfer Baggage Projects.
